Hi it's me Bashful. I'm sort of a bashful girl, thus the name. Oh, and also 'cause we're named after the Seven Dwarfs. Not 'cause we are dwarfs or anything like that though, silly. I intend to be a fully regular-sized kinda girl when I grow up. For now I am a little black snuggly pupster. My ears stand up kinda funny and my foster dad calls them "bat ears." I think he is just plain goofy but he is really nice to all of us so I guess that is OK. I am pretty shy most of the time but maybe I can grow out of that as I get bigger. It would have been better if someone had really loved us and cared for us when we were first born, 'stead of leaving us all alone, huddled down in that cold nasty garage. At least we did have someplace out of the wind, 'cause it's pretty bad to be in the cold wind and snow and ice and all of that scary stuff. And we did have each other, and our mama.

We're really really glad we were rescued though, that is for sure. Now we all live indoors, where it's warm and bright and we have soft things to lay on. Our nice foster mom even cleans up all of our messes! Which is extra good since us puppies sure can make a mess, haha. We also have fun toys that make squeaky noises and tasty foods and treats and fresh water that isn't even frozen! It's definitely a better life for us now. We all sure hope that we find good homes with families who love dogs. And who will make us part of the family and have us inside. We need lots of attention and loving and good stuff in life, to make up for our first icky 6 weeks in that cold dark garage. Anyway, it's time for me to take a nap so I better go. Maybe later one of my brothers or sisters will get to come say "Hi" to you too. I'm really smart so I got to use the computer first, and I can show them all how!

A FAIRY TAIL:
"Snow White (Brown?) and The Seven Puppies"

The simple but tragic story of a lovely red-brown princess "mama-dog" saved from the evil deeds of her wicked, uncaring owners who dumped her (pregnant and all alone) on a country road. Luckily for our furry friends, a kind and caring rescue near by took the princess in with her 7 adorable babies, named after the famous 7 dwarfs. Stay tuned for more photos and the next chapter of "Snow Brown and The Seven Puppies!"

Hi everyone!

My name is Hank (formerly known as "Frisbee".) I wanted to give you an update about my fabulous new home and life. I was adopted from Happy Dogs Rescue 7 weeks ago and have a new Mom and brother Joe, an 8 year old chocolate lab. I am making myself right at home with my new family. They are just awesome! Brother Joe is adjusting but deep down he knows how good it is to have a new canine buddy around. I like to taunt him with tug of war and toy games and he steps right in. I enjoy my big backyard where I can roam and check out the squirrels and birds and the neighbors cats. I love going on long walks through my new neighborhood and become acquainted with new things. I end every walk directing us back to my new house.

My first Christmas was great! We went out of town for the first time and I was wonderful, if I do say so myself! I got to roam and walk in new fun places and play with my Mom's nephews.

I also wanted to mention what a great day I had yesterday. I got in the car with my new family and we went to PetCo to see my first "mom", Michelle, the person that saved me from who knows what. Michelle was there with my brother Uno and sister Jigsaw who are still looking for homes. My siblings looked great and it was like old home again! I also got to visit with the other nice volunteers who used to hold me on their laps and carry me around when I was a tiny fuzzy puppy. (I'm not so tiny any more!) I hope that someone recognizes what great dogs and companions Uno and Jigsaw are, and will take them home like me! They also liked my new brother Joe.

Well, that's about all for now. I'll keep checking in and I hope that everyone at Happy Dogs Rescue is doing well.

Love, Hank

My name is Cider and I'm a new kid on the block at Happy Dogs Rescue. Just a week ago, my "owner" took me for a ride in Kansas City. Except they made me ride in the back of the pick up truck, which is very scary and very dangerous! I didn't want to be there, but I had no choice. I was starting to relax though and was looking around to see where we were going. Suddenly, my people stopped the truck, dumped me out on the street, and drove away. I didn't understand what had happened. Weren't they coming back for me? What was wrong?

It wasn't a part of town that I knew. There were buildings and cement and strange smells and loud noises. But then a really nice man came over to me. He said that he had seen what happened and that he would help me. He said he was really sorry that I had been "dumped," but I don't know what that really means. I just know that I was sad and a little confused. But this man helped me go home to his house, when his wife came to get me. There were other dogs there who told me everything would be "OK" and that I had been "rescued!"

The family told Happy Dogs Rescue about me and I was able to join the group right away. Everyone has been really nice to me so far and I've made a few great friends, both furry and human. I think I like these "rescue" people a lot more than I liked my old life. My new friends said that I'll go to the "vet" soon, whatever that means, and then I can find a new forever home, to really love me like I deserve. But for now I am safe and happy. A big thanks to the man and his wife who helped me get off the street and to safety. I don't know where I would have wound up, but it sure could have been bad.

I'm a pretty big girl, around 29" tall. I don't know how much I weigh but my rescue friends said probably 80-90 lbs. They told me that I might be a "Pointer/Setter mix," but no one really knows for sure. I just know that I'm a really good girl who deserves a good life! I definitely love being indoors on some soft blankies, and I already know that I'm supposed to do my "business" when I'm outside in the yard. I like running around and stretching my long legs, and I like to chase a ball or a stick of someone will throw it for me.

I hope to meet you all soon.

Love, CIDER

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Of course it will be a much happier year if I find a great, loving family to adopt me very soon! I'm not getting any younger, people! Seriously, am I a handsome dude, or what? I'm very smart, nearly housetrained, and I am fantastic on a leash. Just let me show you how cool I am...

This is Uno checking in, on New Year's Day 2007. We all stayed up very late last night with the disco ball spinning, listening to fun dance music and wearing our festive party pooch hats. I'm actually partial to the Bee Gees, but don't tell anyone! Our foster mom of course was in bed asleep by 10pm, she is a total party pooper! But we canines had a really fun time. Angel got a little crazy with the dog biscuits and had to take a nap, and Macy thought her "singing voice" was the best thing ever, so the party got a little wild.

Anyway, we all hope that the great dog-lovers out there will consider adopting a rescue dog in 2007, to make it a truly happy and wonderful new year. Hope to see you all soon!

Love, UNO
